Milling in Shah Alam since 1955
Srri Easwari began in 1955. Three generations on we are still in Shah Alam, still grinding, and still doing it in small runs.
Easwaristore is the retail arm of the group. What you buy here comes off the same line that supplies restaurants, food manufacturers and other brands across Malaysia.
What we sell
Food, and only food.
Spice powders and whole spices. Curry powders and masala blends. Dal and pulses, flours, herbs, papadam, coffee and tea, salt and sugar.
Packs run from a 50 g jar for a home kitchen to a 25 kg sack for a central one. Same batch, same specification. Only the pack changes.
Everything here is a food product
That is a deliberate choice, not an accident of range.
A facility that handles food and non-food on the same site carries a risk that has to be managed — and a customer has to take your word that it has been. We do not ask you to. This is a food mill. Nothing else is milled, packed or stored here, so there is no cross-contact question to answer in the first place.
For a caterer, a restaurant or a factory buying under their own food safety plan, that is worth more than a longer catalogue.
Why small runs
Ground spice starts losing its oils the day it is milled. A mill that grinds a tonne of chilli in January and ships it in June is selling something quieter than what it was.
We grind in small runs and pack close to the date of sale. It costs us efficiency. It buys you a jar that still smells like something when you open it.
Halal, and the paperwork to prove it
We hold JAKIM certification for our own facility — not “halal ingredients”, and not a supplier’s certificate we have borrowed. Under the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Halal) Order 2011 that is the only halal marking that carries legal weight in Malaysia, and it is the one we hold.
The distinction matters more than it sounds. A packer who buys certified powder and repacks it is not certified — their supplier is. Ours covers the mill, because the mill is ours.
Documents on the page, not on request
Every product page publishes:
- the specification sheet — moisture, mesh, origin, storage
- the halal certificate
- net weight, ingredients, allergen declaration, storage and best-before, as
the Food Regulations 1985 require on every pack
If you are buying for a restaurant, a factory or an export order, you can hand those to your own auditor without ringing us first.
Most suppliers will send you a certificate if you ask. We would rather you did not have to ask — and it means what you file is what everyone else can see too.
Ground to order, traceable to a batch
Every pack carries its batch and its best-before date. If a question ever comes back to us — from you, from your auditor, or from an authority — we can tell you which run it came from and when it was milled.
That is ordinary practice for a food manufacturer. It is not ordinary for an online spice shop.
